Yael the Superhero: Part 1 Yael soared high above the green park. Her bright pink cape flapped in the wind. "Whee!" she laughed, feeling happy and free. She loved to fly among the fluffy white clouds. Down below, she spotted her friend, Maya. Maya was sitting under a big orange tree. Oh dear, Maya looked a little sad. Yael swooped down gently to the ground. "Hello, Maya!" Yael said with a smile. Maya looked up, her blue eyes wide. "What's wrong?" Yael asked softly. "My kitten, Bella, is stuck up high!" Maya cried. Yael looked up into the tall branches. "Don't worry, I can help!" she declared. "Look, Bella is a small, black cat." "What color is Bella?" Yael asked Maya. "Black!" Maya answered. Yael took a deep breath and flew up. She flew quickly, like a little bird. Bella was on a branch, meowing loudly. "Hello, Bella!" Yael whispered gently. Bella purred as Yael carefully scooped her up. Yael brought Bella down to Maya's waiting arms. "Thank you, Yael! You are amazing!" Maya cheered. "You're welcome!" Yael replied, feeling proud. Suddenly, Yael heard a faint "Help!" She looked across the park with her super eyes. Oh no, it was David by the big blue slide! He was trying to catch his red ball. "I can run super fast!" Yael thought. She waved goodbye to Maya and Bella. Zoom! Yael ran across the grass like lightning. "Hello, David! What's wrong?" she called out. "My ball rolled into the pond!" David explained. "It's my favorite red ball!" he added. Yael looked at the small, clear pond. "What color is the ball?" Yael asked David. "Red!" David shouted happily. Yael walked to the edge of the pond. She carefully reached out her long arm. Splash! She grabbed the shiny red ball. "Here is your ball, David!" she said. "Thank you, Yael! You saved my ball!" David grinned. "Good job, David, for telling me!" Yael praised him. "We are good friends!" David said. Yael smiled, her superhero heart warm. The sun began to set, painting the sky orange and pink. Yael felt happy she helped her friends today. Helping others makes her super special. "Goodbye, everyone!" she called as she flew home.
